Let's talk about 1 Peter 5:5. When it says, "Likewise, you who are younger, be subject to the elders. And all of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another," it's not advocating for a top-down dictatorship. It calls for younger members to respect the wisdom of church leaders, but the very next sentence emphasizes that everyone should be humble towards each other. This means mutual respect and valuing one another are key. Even leaders are called to humility, serving rather than lording over others. Remember, the Bible tells us God opposes the proud but gives grace to the humble. So, this verse is about fostering a community of respect and service, where humility reigns in all our interactions, not about creating rigid power structures.
